African
American music was the source of inspiration for rock
n´ roll and pop music since their inception. Black Power
is an impressive compilation that brings together 45
hits in three CDs of the best of soul, funk, rhythm
and blues all from the 60s and 70s. We find the great
slow songs like The Way You Are by Barry White, Easy
from The Commodores, Walk On By by Dionne Warwick and
Georgia On My Mind by Ray Charles. Gems of funk like
Too Hot by Kool & The Gang and George Clinton´s Cosmic
Slop are also present, as are immortal classics such
as Sexual Healing by Marvin Gaye, Respect by Aretha
Franklin, River Deep, Mountain High by Ike and Tina
Turner, Get Ready by Rare Earth and Please Please Please
by James Brown.
With amazing cover art and remastered sound, Black Power
is an album to treasure as part of any record collection.
